Diogenes Community Services embraces this concept and has adopted the mantra of the late great champion. We are committed to shinning the light upon and speaking out against systemic inequities that have historically affected African Americans and other disconnected communities at disproportionate rates. In doing so, Diogenes Community Services believes that it is paramount to leverage the expertise of those impacted to identify, design and execute community driven solutions.
We must not be afraid to call injustices exactly what they are. We must be willing to disrupt systems that perpetuate inequality. We must do so with a keen sense and complete understanding of the change we are creating. This does not mean removing the shackles of oppression from one group and placing them on another. It means to dismantle and destroy the shackles of oppression so that they can never be used again. We recognize that this may sound idealistic and lofty, however, it is our aspiration every day that our doors are open This is our promise and living creed.
